My favorite city- Pune

Pune is a metro city situated in Maharashtra. Pune is a historical place associated with Marathi culture. It is known as educational hub of Maharashtra. I live in Pune for about 4 years. I like this city as there are couple of opportunities we have for our learning and self development. Pune is called educational hub because there are many ancient schools providing good education to the local as well as foreign students, in Pune there are hundreds of schools and colleges having millions of students. It is situated 560 meters above sea level on the Deccan plateau, on the right bank of the Mutha River. Pune city is the administrative headquarters of Pune district and was once the centre of power of the Maratha Empire established by Great Shivaji Maharaj.
Couple of years back, Pune was the place of residence for old age and Pensioner’s people but now the condition is changed, Pune has grown into a vibrant metro, a hub of education, industry, information technology, entertainment, and so on. Now what make Pune different than other cities is the Design, Drive and Connectivity.
Design: - All knows that Pune is a very old city, it has many old structures and temples situated all over the city. Many Churches, Mosque, Gurudwaras, Buddhist Viharas, Jewish synagogues, Jain temples and other religious buildings are found throughout the city. The most prominent Hindu temple in Pune is the Parvati Temple, located on Parvati hill, which is constructed by the Pune’s ruler Peshwa. We can view every part of the city from the Parvati hills. With lots of green trees and good atmosphere, Parvatill hill is a famous place of Pune peoples for morning walk. The presiding Deity of the city is the Kasba Ganapati, whose temple is located in Kasba Peth in central Pune. Sarasbaug Ganpati is also a prominent landmark in Pune. The Rock-cut Pataleshwar Temple is believed to be one of the oldest temples in the city.
Pune is emerging as a prominent location for IT and manufacturing. Pune has the eighth largest metropolitan economy and the sixth highest per capita income in the country. So along with many old and historical structures, Pune has developed many new buildings, malls and other structures. Infrastructure wise Pune is now on the top list. There are several industries developed around Pune in MIDC area. The city is design and developed according to the Administrative plans. The city is increased day by day with lot many new opportunities for young peoples.
Drive: - As long as drive is concerned, Pune has wide varieties of automobiles. Actually Pune is an Automobile hub having many automotive industries located nearby Pune. Pune has vast traffic problem too. With increasing automobiles and population, Pune is having crowded streets. Road mishaps are frequent because people, as in other metros, ultimately decide to ‘break’ traffic rules rather than ‘abide’ by them. I see Audis, Mercedes, Tata Xenon, Tata Manza, Honda civic and other such high-end cars almost everywhere in Pune. No wonder this city and its people are so self-driven but they are having public transportation also.
Connect: - Pune is having very vast connectivity as long as roads are considered. Entire metro city is well connected with roads. One of the major problems associated with Pune is the presence of traffic especially during evening but is handled by traffic police department. Still there are many opportunities to improve as long as traffic is considered. Apart from evening traffic the roads in Pune are beautiful and ergonomically designed. The central place of all roads is “Deccan”.
So finally I want to say you that overall Pune is a very good city for one to live. Pune will become Smart City in near future which will make Pune a great city. To know more about please visit the following website, http://madeofgreat.tatamotors.com/
